Lots of people think going to medical school is something to be envied.  Those people have no idea about the unrelenting competition; the ALWAYS having to strive to find some edge to set yourself above the commonplace.

That’s why when seeing the notice for a medical internship, and the words “groundbreaking treatment for psychiatric illness”, you seized the opportunity.  Even if it isn’t groundbreaking, perhaps you can get a letter of recommendation from a doctor NOT associated with your college - that would be big.

Yes, you have concerns.  Why does this research need to take place in the countryside?  What does the phrase, “closed campus to enforce scientific rigor” mean exactly?  How did the notice even end up under your door, and somehow, none of the others on your floor?

These worries are your negative mind trying to hold you back.  Take a deep breath.  Let it out slowly.  You cannot afford to let negate thoughts win.  So just push those fears down, pack your bags, and go claim the waiting plane ticket.  Everything should be fine.
